I’ve never had a doctor call in sick to me. Well, I’ve never had a regular doctor really. Or gone to the doctor frequently. So maybe this isn’t that interesting to anyone else.

Anyhow. We have Tom’s appointment on Thursday now.

Which means I must schedule my interviewees at work differently. Geez. Go figure.

I’ve spent some time online looking into the price of land around here. The thought process was to get a modular home and stick it on a spot of land. I’ve been told that these homes can be easily customized therefore maybe making it more accessible for Tom.

Of course, I have no idea what I’m talking about. I noticed about 3/4 of the way through looking at land online that it would be best if all the hook-ups (electricity, sewer, water, etc.) were already to the plot. Duh, Captain Obvious.

Anywhoooo – I would think a modular home would be cheaper than buying an already exsisting home and remodeling it to suite our needs. And, our budget is non-exsistant, so the more we can get for our money the better off we are. Thank goodness for First Time Home Buyers deals and No Down Payment stuffs. Yeah, cuz otherwise, we’d be renting FOREVER.

It sure would be nice to have a home more accessible for Tom that wouldn’t cost us a million dollars. I wonder if there is government assistance for this type of thing. I have no idea how to look into something like that… Jeeves doesn’t know either. What good is he, anyhow?

Some of these floor plans are great and look very wheelchair friendly. Like this one and this one. Of course, they don’t list their prices… go figure. The ones I’m looking at aren’t huge (there are some amazingly large modular homes out there). But, even the smaller ones look dreamy.

Man, I want a house. This one bedroom apartment is wonderful, but I’m ready to have our own space… Ah, to not be piled on top of each other, room for storage… what a nice concept.

I want to remind my family of my PictureTrail account. This site has not removed any of my photos yet, but it should be happening any time now.

Also, I’ve decided to take my first attempt at a web page down. So, anyone who has the ‘So This Is Life…?’ link saved in their favorites can remove it. It has been cleaned up, and only directs people to this blog now. If for some reason, someone wanted any info that was on that site, I have it all saved on my computer.

You know what I dislike? No, of course you don’t. And, honestly, I’m sure you don’t care. But, this is my blog. So, I get to complain about whatever I want.

I hate political blogs. Yes, I said it.

I love surfing blogs to kill time. I find it entertaining to mill about in other peoples lives and thoughts. Its all interesting to me.

But, while surfing, I stumble upon these stupid political blogs. I don’t follow politics. I definately don’t follow enough to have any form of desire to read about someone elses view point on politics. It drives me batty. I can’t hit the little X in the right hand corner fast enough.

What’s worse is it improves their ‘traffic’ numbers whenever I walk blindly into one of these wordy waste of times. So, they think that I’m actually interested. I’m not.

I should start commenting on each one. Something to the effect of: Geez, another flapping political blog. Whoopie. Sorry, I don’t care about your point of view. I’ll make sure never to visit again. Thank you for wasting my time.

Please note, though, minor politics interlaced with meaningful real life blogs don’t detour me too much. :D

Not really good for anything,
but they still bring a smile to your face
when you push them down a flight of stairs.

(Thanks Trish!)

I went to preview my blog, and it didn’t load. Okay, the background loaded, but nothing else. Three times, in a row. If anyone else is attempting to look at this thing, I hope it loads for you. I have no idea what the problem is.

We had a wound care nurse visit today and assess Tom’s two spots. She seems confident that the stage 2 wound on his calf will heal rather quickly because there is no dead tissue and everything is looking healthy. On the other hand, though, the one on his rear (although it did not ’scare’ her – therefore was not in horrible shape) must be labeled as ‘unstageable’ because the necrotic* (dead) tissue is hiding the true depth of the wound.

So, she set us up with some supplies and will return next week to see the progress. Until we have a hold on these, Tom has decided to stay in bed and off the wounds. It really sucks for him considering the temperature nearly hit 65 or so today. But, its better to stay off them now and get them healed than to miss all of spring and summer in bed because the wounds were worse.

Tom has an appointment with his primary care physician on Tuesday. It will consist mainly of a basic check up.

My dad and mom are waiting to hear from John Hopkins from a doctor there who has had success with treating Anaplastic Thyroid cancer. (Success translates to a total of 9 survivors world wide – I think.) This doctor will tell Dad’s doctor at KU what method of treatment to do and when. Hopefully this treatment will work.

My cousin is getting her medical stuff sorted out, finally. Hopefully, after tomorrow, she’ll done with doctors and hospitals for a long long time.

*Is this the right spelling of this word? Thats what spell check said… but I’ve never seen the written word before.
