I sit here, in an all too familiar place, thinking all too familiar thoughts.

What are these thoughts, you wonder?

Well, they’re mainly of nothingness. Okay, more along the lines of having nothing to write about.

Yet, I feel compelled to post something – more so for my own entertainment than for the satisfaction of my readers (all 3 of you – or 5, or whatever).

There is lots of stuff I want to do, but nothing is winning over the idea of having to go outside to do them.

There is some stuff I need to do, but none of it is anything I choose to take on at this moment.

What did we do before AC?

I grew up without (or with limited – aka: window unit) AC, and I survived. I even went outside somewhat regularly. Only sometimes did the temperature hinder my planned activities for the day.

Now, I wake up, watch the news for the weather and think about what I might do outside if it weren’t 115 degrees (with the heat index).

I wonder if I use the weather as an excuse. If it were 80 degrees, would I still make up an excuse to not make it outside?

We could go shopping. Tom got some money for his birthday. I’m sure he’d love to go to Home Depot to buy all sorts of stuff.

How is it that I use the weather as a reason to not do things inside my house? I find that rather impressive.

Like – I could do the laundry. But, its too hot to have the dryer going.
Uh – you’ve got the AC going…
Well, running the dryer will make the house hotter, therefore making the AC run longer… Thats not energy efficent!

And the question is not, “What is the meaning of life?”

Actually, the question is, “How old will Tom be tomorrow?”

If I recall correctly, I met Tom when he was 32. So we will of known each other about 10 years, plus or minus a couple months.

Crazy.

I think I have hives.

I have no idea what else it could be.

It’s on my hands, mostly my fingers, and its driving me nuts. Little bumps – kinda look like baby blisters? They’re itchy when they first come up, then it goes away.

I noticed them last night on only one of my fingers. They’ve spread, obviously, since then. But, I’ve not noticed them anywhere else besides my hands.

Why did I get hives?

I didn’t eat / touch anything different that normal.

Oh, I see (after quick research) that stress can cause hives. If stress is what has caused this outbreak, we’ve got problems.

Then shouldn’t I be one big hive by now?

They better go away. I have no desire to have hives. And, honestly, I don’t know anyone that really does.

Hmm… I really wonder if they are hives. What if its some crazy disease?! ;)

What if I’ve got the Black Plague!??!

I can make a good hypochondriac when I try.

Oh, I do, I do. (Note the excitement there.)

Have you ever been forced to learn about something that you’ve no idea about? Is it hard for your mind to comprehend? A little much to process?

Yet, you have no option but to learn and make an educated decision promptly.

Great.

Our furnace and our hot water run off of propane. We’re running low. AND – the price of propane goes up for the winter months. Which, according to the propane world, is coming up soon. Prices change in the middle of August!

So, I have to figure out how to work this system and then come up with the money to pay for this crap, which most companies expect up front payments.

Who makes the rules for this crap?

How much does it cost to make these things run off of electricity? Do I really want to fathom that cost? Doubtfully.

I don’t wanna play. I’m taking my toys and going home!

I had to go in and get my camera, of course. I took several photos, but I think I like this one best.

As always, click to enlarge.

I just don’t understand the point.

Do people actually read their junk mail, or their spam emails?

I personally don’t waste my time with this crap. I throw it all away immediately (well, minus my quest for the best interest rate on a credit card – which goes in phases).

My head spins while wading through all the flyers and envelopes in my mailbox to weed out my bills and personal mail.

It drives me insane to have 10 emails when I get online, and only 2 of them are from people I know.

And, and, telemarketers?! What kind of job is that?

I would never be able to go to work and call 300 people in a day and listen to them cuss me out for doing my (although stupid and annoying) job. Well, if I were being paid good money, I’d do it for a while… but it better say in my contract that I have the right to defend myself against verbal attacks.

The junk mail gets to me the most though. Seriously. What line of defense do you have against all this crap in your mailbox?

Spam emails, although obnoxious, are easily disposed of with the press of a button.

You can decide to not answer your phone. You can get on that ‘do not call’ list (which I am, thank goodness).

But, you must sort your mail to make sure that one important envelope did not get swallowed up by all the crap that is 95% of your mail!

Does this drive anyone else up the wall?!

Yeah, I didn’t do anything on my list from yesterday… I suppose I still have tomorrow, though, right?

Instead, while tending to Tom and his brief-yet-miserable cold this afternoon, I found myself a new template.

You likes?!

I think I’m done messing with this thing for a little while. Well, until another freebie catches my eye!

Is there a Make Your Own Blogger Template for Dummies book? If there is, I want it. :D
