Its been a while, hasn’t it?

I wish I had a brand new exciting story to tell you about our lives.

I don’t.

Tom’s foot is doing well, but hasn’t healed yet.

We have the yearly get-together tomorrow with Tom’s old neighborhood friends.

Uh, thats about it, really.

Sorry.

If any of y’all drink Coke, Diet Coke, or Coke Zero and aren’t interested in ‘redeeming the points‘, would ya throw the codes this way?

I want an MP3 player. (Lookie! Its green too! Its so meant to be mine!) But, seriously, this is probably the only way I’ll be able to afford one.

It’ll only take me drinking 260 12-packs of diet coke… I figure I’ve got a decent chance.

But, a little help would be great.

Heck, maybe we’ll save up for the TV.

Again, the weather gods were on our side today.

As we sat around the house, we started thinking of how we wanted to spend the day.

We agreed today would be a perfect day to visit our friends Bill and Lisa. They have a wonderful porch, which with a little maneuvering, Tom can get situated and enjoy visiting with everyone. Today, we even took it a step further and managed to get Tom inside the screen door, into the kitchen. Its the first time he’s been in their house since his accident.

Bill and Lisa’s little girl is adorable. I’m thankful I remembered to grab my camera before we left the house. She’s so photogenic, its near impossible to get a bad photo of her. Check out a couple on my flickr page.

We had only planned on staying a couple hours. We finally left after 6 hours, realizing several things.

1- We love all of our friends.
2- We’ll miss Bill and Lisa when they move.
3- Going to visit friends is uplifting.
4- Lisa will always be a marvelous cook.
5- Bill will always be a riot.
6- Syd will always be adorable.

We took almost 300 photos. There are not that many posted on flickr, I promise.

I am not ashamed to admit that I love to read other people’s blogs.

I’m not sure what the draw is, really, but I cannot stop myself from sticking my nose into other people’s lives. These are people that I most probably will never know, meet, speak to, or even occassionally email back and forth.

Yet, I get sucked in. I become dependant on checking certain people’s blogs daily, to see what has transpired in their lives.

In the past, I would never ever ever comment on someone else’s blog unless it was a pulitzer prize post. I felt that the author of the post wouldn’t care what I had to say, since I didn’t know them or they didn’t know me, or whatever.

I’ve changed my ways.

I’ve started commenting on the blogs I stalk.

Baby steps. Small comments.

Commenting won’t kill me. And, if the author doesn’t like it, they’ll delete it. Or make fun of me. Whatever. I don’t have to go back to their blog, right?

Its not like grade school, when you knew you’d have to see those people for the rest of the year… so you tried to tiptoe around them… so they wouldn’t say something horrible about you… and you’d have to deal what they said every day… for the rest of the year…

Oh, you’re still reading? Uh, that last paragraph was just a concept. I wouldn’t know what that was like… uh huh. Serious.

We did.

The weather was wonderful which allowed us to get out of the house for a while.

We went to some nursery with native plants for our area. There are some pretty cool plants there which would work perfectly in our bare flower beds.

Of course, Tom wants to go back and spend a million dollars. I’ll have to set his wallet out of reach of him!

We’re supposed to go to Powell Gardens on Sunday. I’m playing photographer for my best friend and her boyfriend. I’ll post some photos on flickr, if I take any I really like.

I’ve been changing up the layout of this site a little. I hope you’re still able to find everything you’d want and maybe a little bit more. Heck, if I’m lucky, you’ve not even noticed the changes!

I forgot we got reimbursed from the pharmacy for the scripts we paid for out of pocket.

How often do you go to the pharmacy and get money back?

I wish every visit were like that.

“Please, take our medications. We’ll pay you!”

Heck, we’d be millionaires by now.

Anyhow.

I’ve got my diet coke. And Tom’s pills.

We’re good.
