Snow and ice sucks.

Not having a carport sucks.

Not putting gas in my car the last time I was out sucks.

Having a sidewalk without icemelt sucks.

Having a fireplace and not being able to use it sucks.

Being out of Diet Coke sucks.

Not having a way to get more Diet Coke sucks.

You know, overall, today hasn’t been so bad.

Yeah, there’s an ice storm a brewin‘.

I’m not nervous about it, really. We’ve got food. I can ration my diet coke and cigarettes. We’ve got a ton of blankets if the power goes out.

But, you know I have an addiction when I start freaking out that I might lose my satellite internet and tv.

(When ice builds up on the satellite, the signal can’t get through… rendering me internet-less. The tv signal is less apt to go out, but it will if the ice gets bad enough.)

We’re supposed to go to the wound clinic tomorrow. If this weather keeps up, I highly doubt we’ll even attempt it. On a positive note, though, Tom’s wound is healing remarkably well.

Man, if the power goes out for any amount of time, I’ll have to change Tom’s air mattress to a regular one. Sucky Suckerton.

Anyway – I’m off to do all my internet stuff in case I can’t get online anymore tonight.

Pray for me. ;)

I was reading through my archives, cuz… well, cuz I was.

(What else is there to do at this time of night… er, morning?)

Anyway – I’ve decided I’m really frickin’ hilarious.

Yeah, I don’t care if you don’t agree.

Well, and there are large spans of boring times in my life.

But, man!

When I’m hilarious, I’m hilarious. Flippin’ hilarious, I tell you what.

Just sayin’.

Hm. I think that I should go to sleep now.

After some careful consideration and studying of the living room, Tom and I decided where to put the Christmas tree.

You know, the room looks fairly large until you want to put ‘just one more thing’ in there…

But, its up and decorated and pretty-n-stuff.

We’re missing a box of decorations, though.

Paul (our roommate) said he thought he saw it in the shed, but I’ve yet to search out there.

Of course, I didn’t bother to go out to the shed when it was 70 degrees outside.

No, no. I’ve decided to wait until the mid-west finally realized it is winter.

(You know, you’ve got to love it when its 70 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday is supposed to be 30-something.)

Anyway.

I’ve taken the week off of work while Paul is in California. There’s not much to do at work anyhow. I didn’t see the point in trying to find someone to sit with Tom while I putzed around for an hour at the store.

I suppose I could be wrapping Christmas presents this week. But, I’m just not wanting to do that yet.

But, I did do this (for Trish):

There. There’s your flippin’ elf, tree and Santa.

(aren’t you thrilled by my artwork? I made it with my own two hands!)

Someone please pat me on the back and tell me I did a good job.

Ew. Its awfully pixelly here. Click to enlarge if you want to see the better version.

Wow. I had to vacuum my computer out again.

It didn’t even look real dusty inside.

But, it works now. And it didn’t before I vacuumed it.

Weird.

I’ll post something better soon, I promise.

I decided to play around on Elizabeth’s blog.

She never uses it.

I created it for her so she could comment here without too much difficulty.

Check it out and leave her a comment.

Then, come back here and tell me what you think, k?

I know it’s not perfect… but I’m definitely getting the swing of it.

(And, yes, this means there will probably be more changes here, too. Eventually.)

If only I knew how to code it completely, instead of using someone’s base…

I started this post thinking I had something clever to say.

I mean, like, I was in the other room and thought, ‘Heck, I know what I’ll post!’

On the way to the computer, I attempted to walk past the refrigerator.

Yeah, I had to glance at all the leftovers in my fridge.

Needless to say, I got distracted.

I have no idea what the post was going to be about now.

The leftover ham sandwhich I had was good, though.

I will tell you this:

When you’re staring into your refrigerator in amazement of all the leftover Thanksgiving food that somehow fits in there, remember there are children starving right here in your country… your state… your county… your city.

So, make sure no food goes to waste.

You must continue to eat today until you feel like you’re going to explode.

And, when you wake up tomorrow, you must pick up where you left off.

You must keep up the pace, and you can’t let up until all your leftovers are eaten!

You can’t let the food go to waste while there are children starving! Geez.

***

Seriously, though, folks.

Donate food, money or time this holiday season to the real people in need – through Harvesters, Salvation Army, or whatever method you choose.

Donate a dollar. Donate a can of food.

Each person can help make a difference.

Don’t forget there are some people out there that really appreciate help.
