Oh my goodness. Thank God the weather was nice today.

Tom got out of bed and outside for a couple hours today. (He still has his pressure wounds, so time up in his chair is limited.)

We wandered around the yard and discussed all the ideas we have to improve the place. You know… when we win the lottery.

I’d really love to put in a stone walkway all around the property, so Tom would have a smoother surface to drive on. (Our yard is extra bumpy for some reason…) Also, the stone walkway would allow Tom in the yard when the ground is muddy.

We’ve discussed building planter boxes that would set up next to the house and around the deck. We could make these at a height which Tom would be able to work with.

Heck – there’s a lot of things we would do if we had the money. But, ya know, that stuff doesn’t grow on trees.

Trees!! We need some trees too.

One day, I’m just going to throw my desire to pay my credit card off out the window and charge a whole bunch of stuff to make our house nicer, and easier for Tom.

Yeah… one day…

Anyhow, we also strolled down to our neighbors house and chatted with him for a while. His house isn’t accessible, but it didn’t matter today anyhow. We were all more than happy to sit outside on his steps and enjoy the weather.

Tom’s back in bed now. I think that we’ll be able to cope with our cabin fever for a couple of days… The weather is supposed to turn chiller this weekend, anyhow.

Oh yeah. I forgot I said I was going to do ‘Way Back Wednesday’.

Uhm. Seriously, there is nothing going on here.

So, have a picture.

This is me with a bird on my head.

I think his name was Joe… the bird’s name, I mean.

The other guy is my dad.

For some reason I was absolutely terrified of that bird landing on my head… I mean, not that I would want a bird to land on my head now. I’m fairly certain that I would be just as terrified.

I had to stop at the grocery store today, on the way home from work.

I hate it when you run into the store to grab a couple items, and you see someone that you really don’t want to talk to. You know who I’m talking about. Like, the person you used to have a class with your freshman year of high school… or a friend of a friend of a friend, that you’ve met twice in your life.

Its not like I hate these people. But, I don’t have anything to say to them.

“Oh, hi, I haven’t seen you in a long time.”

“Yeah, I know.”

(Where can the conversation go from there?! Seriously!)

So, I try to do the respectable thing, and dodge these people.

I catch a glimpse of one of these people tonight in the grocery store. Its been so long since I’ve seen them that it took my brain a little time to register how I knew the person. I know I don’t have anything to say to this person. We’re not really friends. We were acquaintances, like, 10 years ago.

I don’t totally avoid eye contact with the person, but I don’t really make any defining movements like I recognize them, either.

I turn into the isle with the toilet paper, I hear this person rudely say, “Fine, just ignore me.”

I turn to see if the person is in the isle with me, and they’re not.

And, I figure, ignoring this person is probably the best option anyhow.

Ya know what I’m sayin’?

I hate it when you bite the inside of your cheek accidentally.

Then, because its swollen from the first bite, you keep accidentally biting it all day long.

And, I think Trish should post at her own blog, therefore she would understand how difficult it is to find something clever to say daily. ;)

There just hasn’t been anything to say.

Its just realllllly boring around here.

Boring is good, though. I’m not complaining.

But, doesn’t leave me anything to blog about really.

Tom’s sister had her boyfriend put a new sink in our kitchen. That was a sweet deal.

Uhm.

And, I’ve been working on my family tree.

Thats it. Sorry.

Yeah, I had one of ‘those’ moments today.

The moment when you think, “I am so blogging this when I get home.”

Then, when you get home, you have no idea who / what / when / where the idea came about.

Elizabeth had gone out to dinner with her folks and her Uncle and Aunt.

Her Uncle, being polite, asked her what the head count was for her wedding.

She sighed, knowing the conversation that was going to occur from the simple question, “800.”

Her Uncle looked at her with wide eyes. Her Mother cringed with the number as well.

“We can still have it at Yellow Stone Park,” her Dad offered.

Elizabeth shook her head, “No, Dad, I want to have it here.”

“What’s wrong with Yellow Stone Park?” her Uncle asked. “And why so many people?”

“I’ve been dreaming of this day since I was a little kid, and it was never at Yellow Stone Park. Dad wants it at Yellow Stone, and I have no idea why! There wouldn’t be as many people, except his family is Italian and my family feels the need to invite every South African on this continent…”

The crowd start to all talk at once, adding their own advice to Elizabeth’s wedding.

Elizabeth’s Aunt interrupts, “Leave her be, leave her be. This is her wedding and she should be allowed to have it however she wants!”

Then, I woke up. Yeah, it was a dream. It was weird. I don’t get it, because none of it affects me, really.

No offense, Elizabeth, but your wedding should not stress me out. Another crazy dream like this, and I may have to consider therapy.
