* This is not a picture of my actual ear, cuz I’m not that motivated. Besides, you can’t see the swelling anyhow. I hate my ears – only because I don’t have insurance.

* I should be getting my car inspected and licensed today, but I just don’t have the motivation to get out of the house yet. I’m blaming it on my ear, although I don’t think I would be motivated even if my ear didn’t hurt.

* I wonder if I should wait out the pain to see if it improves, or head in to the ER today.

* I have no idea what happened to my ear to cause this situation. No swimming. No long showers. (No known water in the ear, is what I’m getting at here.) There is a little swelling behind the ear also, but its not very tender or anything.

* Did I mention that is SUCKS to not have insurance. Kthxbi.

This rose bush is one of Tom‘s prize possessions. It’s called a Scentimental Rose. When we moved to this house, we transplanted it and prayed that it would make it through the move.

Of course, it was too traumatized to bloom last year, which made us nervous as to whether it would live or die.

But, here it is this year! The plant itself is finally starting to grow, and obviously produce flowers. It’ll take it a good couple years to get back where it was, though!

Oh, btw, this picture was taken with Tom‘s camera, too! Whoo-hoo.

The wedding went alright. It was a small affair, which is fine.

It seemed like every 3rd person had a camera, though, so it was a little hard to get photos without getting in other’s shots. I get a little confused when this happens. I don’t know who the ‘primary’ photographer is – therefore trying to stay completely out of their way…

Anyhow – there are some pictures on my flickr account. We took quite a few, and I’ve not been able to look through them all and check them out. So, some more photos might appear later.

If I really am going to consider doing this for cash, I’m going to need to look into lighting alternatives, because it would of helped tremendously today. Overall, I’m not horribly impressed with the photos. I’ve done better. Yet, I’ve done worse, also.

My sister went with me today, which I enjoyed. She went with the intention of helping me take photos, which she did. But, it turned out to not be as necessary as I assumed it would be. But, we did have quite a interesting moments.

My favorite would be when we arrived at the Buddhist Temple before anyone else and had to ask a non-English speaking Monk whether we were in the right place.

“Hi, is there a wedding here at noon?” I ask politely, unassuming of how difficult of a question this really is.

He nods wildly, smiles and cheerfully, “Cooking Class at 5!”

“Uhm,” I just don’t know how to respond to that. “Nooooo… Wedding… Noon?”

Right, my sister and I decided to wait outside for someone from the wedding party to arrive…

Anyway – On a completely and totally different subject:

In case y’all don’t read Trish‘s blog, I just wanted to quickly say that TRISH IS PREGNANT AND IS GOING TO HAVE A BABY GIRL! AND SHE’S GOING TO NAME HER SHEILA! (Okay, I made that last part up.)

Why do people think that calling me at 4 AM is alright?!

No, I will not cosign on your bond.

I cannot believe that I am the ONLY person that you know that has had a job for over a year. Aren’t you realizing what you’re saying?!

I don’t care that you’re going to loose your job.

Its your problem.

On a different note, I’m doing the photography at a wedding tomorrow. (No charge – its to add to my portfolio so maybe one day I can charge!)

I’m kind of excited about it because its a Buddhist ceremony, and I’ve not ever been to one of those.

But, I’m a little nervous at the same time because I’ve not gotten much of a chance to talk specifics to the Bride (a friend of mine).

My sister is coming along to be the second shooter.

And, there’s a possibility I may be doing another wedding in June. (Angie? Interested?) This one would be a paying job, but I have no idea what… Cuz I don’t know what to charge.

Will post some pictures on Flickr no later than Sunday evening, I think. I’ll let y’all know.

Again, I sit here, wondering what in the world to write about.

So, once again, I cheat.

Let’s look to our friend the StatCounter and see how people find my blog.

It’ll be fun.

Maybe.

  • i ate deodorant (Whoah, man, I only accidentally flushed mine… I think you need to seek medical attention.)
  • scroll thingee (I’m all about it! Can’t live without it!)
  • for the last company picnic, management decided that, due to liability issues… (yeah, I found it funny too.)
  • why is my car wobbling (Uhm, I think you need a new tire.)
  • don’t trust home depot (I’m not supposed to trust them either?! Who am I supposed to rely on?!)
  • internet sister blackmail story pictures (you really think I’d dish out the dirt on my sister?! Sorry, I like my sister.)
  • addiction to diet coke (hm, I don’t really have one link to this. It’s just a known fact around here. Sorry. Join the club.)
  • nudest camp (ew! ew!)
  • headgear (wow, a lot of people are curious about headgear.)
  • spider monkeys (I think I get more visitors because I wrote this post.)

I will say, since having a blog and being able to track my visitors, I find myself carefully entering words into search engines.

I remember being young and naive… looking up Dick’s Sporting Goods. I’ll never call that store by it’s first name again.

I borrowed this from my sister-in-law.

In Google, type your name and “likes to” in quotation marks (ex: “Jesse likes to”). Then make a list of the first ten results to share.

1. Outside of University life, Sheila likes to travel, meet people, and see new sights — to learn something new each and every day.

2. Sheila likes to ride camels in the desert, camp at the base of Mt. Everest and snowshoe through the Swiss Alps. Nutty stuff. But that’s my mom.

3. Sheila likes to be as proactive as possible in her DBA role, but she knows that unexpected situations are a fact in a complex environment.

4. Sheila likes to keep pretty tight control over everyone in the office to make sure things run smoothly and deadlines are met.

5. Sheila likes to hear back from customers.

6. Sheila likes to read biographies, histories, mysteries. and novels; her favorite writers are: Charles Dickens,. Willa Cather, Mark Twain, Kurt Vonnegut

7. In fact it is the mantra of the Left. And one the absolutes, the bullies at TH have been chanting for quite some time. As Sheila likes to say…”case close”.

8. Sheila likes to go to Sequoyah Hills Park, where she gets the chance to run off-leash.

9. Sheila likes to study in the quiet room, and Bob, loud.

10. Sheila likes to take things slowly. So, with them two, it keeps a handle on the whole management committee ’cause one’s on one side and one’s on the other
