Trading Spaces?

Well, I would be lying if I said I watched it.  I don’t.  I have watched it before… but never regularly, and definitely not recently.

Anyway, I keep seeing the new episode of Trading Spaces being advertised on tv.  Do you know which episode I’m talking about?  The one with the Vegas performers?  You know, Elvis and Cher?

Every time I see that commercial, I look at Tom and say, “I know that guy.  I swear I do.”

To which Tom quickly replies, “Uh, yeah, Sheila… that’s Elvis.”

Then I promptly roll my eyes and say, “No, I went to school with that guy.”

By then, of course, Tom has completely lost interest in my story about some Elvis guy and whether or not I went to school with him.  And, the commercial quickly ends, and I immediately get distracted with Jon and Kate Plus 8, again.

But!

Finally!

Tonight I decide I’m going to figure out if I really know Elvis.  So, I google Trading Spaces… and can’t find the name of the Elvis impersonator that I need to confirm my suspicions.

So, I google the guy who went to my high school.  And, there he is… looking exactly like Elvis, and working in Vegas.  And, by golly, his site even says that he was on Trading Spaces.

So, there, world.

I went to high school with Elvis (Matt Lewis was a senior when I was a freshman).

And, he’s on episode 8 of Trading Spaces.

Crazy?  Me?  I think not.

(Well, maybe a smidge.  But, dammit, I was right!!)

I was messing around on myspace. I thought I’d post the slide show here too:

The other day I was complaining to Tom about all the junk that has accumulated in our house. The guest room is not immediately usable – if someone were to come to stay without some warning, they’d be sleeping on the couch! The bedroom is starting to overflow also. Tom’s wheelchair becomes storage for some small boxes and clothing until he decides to get up, then that pile gets transfered onto my bed.

Needless to say, storage is an issue.

Well, let me rephrase a little: We have too much crap. We are pack rats. I am not an organized person by nature. All this added into a house with minimal storage (no basement, no attic and no garage) is an issue.

We do have a shed, though.

And, when we moved in here, we promptly filled up the shed (in a haphazard way) with junk. When I say ‘filled’, I mean ‘mostly shoved in and hoping it won’t fall over on someone’.

Tom and Paul have been discussing the Great Shed Rearrange since we moved in.

Well, today Paul decided to empty the shed.

Without telling us.

Which is a mixed blessing.

I’m thankful that its a nice day, therefore Tom will be able to sit out there and supervise it all. Yet, I was not in the mindset to take on this task today.

I think I’m going to play the “Its not my stuff” card on this project!

Laci saved my life again.

She updated my wordpress for me.

I’m a little intrigued with the newness of the layout of the dashboard.

I’m gunna go push some buttons now!

Have you heard about the latest energy drink?  Believe it or not, its called Blow.  And, they sell it with a fake credit card and mirror, I heard.

Really?

Seriously?

You all do know that ‘blow’ is slang for cocaine, right? Or its a Johnny Depp movie about cocaine.

There is no need for an energy drink to use these ploys to sell their product.  In my mind, they’re basically comparing their product to cocaine… like ‘you’ll get the same results’.

I’m baffled.

I’m not happy about it.

I feel like it should be pulled from the shelves and not released again until its marketing strategy has changed.  At minimum.

What are your thoughts on naming this product (that you can buy at any corner store) a harmful and deadly drug’s street name?

I wasn’t even aware that I had something coming in the mail…
