The other day I was complaining to Tom about all the junk that has accumulated in our house. The guest room is not immediately usable - if someone were to come to stay without some warning, they’d be sleeping on the couch! The bedroom is starting to overflow also. Tom’s wheelchair becomes storage for some small boxes and clothing until he decides to get up, then that pile gets transfered onto my bed.
Needless to say, storage is an issue.
Well, let me rephrase a little: We have too much crap. We are pack rats. I am not an organized person by nature. All this added into a house with minimal storage (no basement, no attic and no garage) is an issue.
We do have a shed, though.
And, when we moved in here, we promptly filled up the shed (in a haphazard way) with junk. When I say ‘filled’, I mean ‘mostly shoved in and hoping it won’t fall over on someone’.
Tom and Paul have been discussing the Great Shed Rearrange since we moved in.
Well, today Paul decided to empty the shed.
Without telling us.
Which is a mixed blessing.
I’m thankful that its a nice day, therefore Tom will be able to sit out there and supervise it all. Yet, I was not in the mindset to take on this task today.
I think I’m going to play the “Its not my stuff” card on this project!

I need to clean out my garage. It would be nice to get at least one of the trucks in there.

I can so relate to this! My husband is a packrat-he saves every piece of paper ever given to him it seems. When I found his phone bills from 1993 I put my foot down and bought a shredder. Fortunately he was agreeable and we got rid of a ton of junk. Now if we could just win the war with the hall closet…lol

My grand-mum was the same… But she even collected all the plastic bags from the butter and ice creams. She used it for her plants. She had a lot of plants.
Sometimes I see on me, that I’m doing the same. But once in a while I get the feeling, that I have to throw our all the things I do not use and need… And I do not like when somebody says, mostly my parents, that they do not have room for their clothes and they put their stuff into my closet, which is the smallest of all. But the half of their closets are full of stuff they do not even wear…
