I think I’m going to look into earning a little spare change on this blog.  I know some of  you absolutely hate that whole idea, while others of you wonder why it took me so long to consider it.

I figure most of my ‘regular readers’ won’t hardly notice the change anyhow.  And, if you don’t like the change, then don’t read it… I guess.

I’m just looking at a couple ways to help ends meet a little easier, just as we all are nowadays.

I’ll keep y’all posted.

OMG if the alarm on the van doesn’t get fixed soon, I may possibly throw something at it.  And, will that do any good?  No.  But, I may feel a little better about the whole ordeal.

My sister and I hung out today at a couple local cemeteries.  Weird?  Some of you probably think so.  But, we were searching for some specific headstones.  No one we knew, though.  We were searching for some that were listed on FindAGrave.  If you don’t freak out about cemeteries, you should totally check it out.

We rescheduled Tom’s doctor’s appointment today.  He just wasn’t feeling it.  So, we’re not going until after Easter.  (Oh, yes, children… Easter is coming up soon.)

The weather has turned from absolutely beautiful 79 degrees to possible snow this weekend.  You know, if Mother Nature would just decide what was going on, it would help me out tons.

We’ve yet to recieve the title for the new van.  But, the company keeps sending us temporary tags to keep us legal.  And, although I appreciate that, I may have to call soon and give ‘em a little hell.  Not too much, of course.  They’ve worked really hard at this whole transaction.  I just don’t understand how they could not have the title in their possession when the van was sold to us.  Ya know?

Gah, the alarm went off again!  WTH?!?!!  There isn’t even a flipping wind outside!  Very very aggravating.  That’s literally 8 times its gone off in the last 2 hours.  Extreme.

I went to the library the other day.  I realized that I have no idea how to work the computer system there to find a book… and, that I honestly don’t know how to find the book if I actually figured out how to work the computer system.  How did this part of my learning about libraries as a child not sink in?  Instead, I browsed the shelves until I found a couple things that caught my eye.

I’ve been getting quite bored with the internet lately.  Someone give me something interesting to do, wouldja?  Thanks.

  • The new van is still pretty and still wonderful.
  • Tom calls it his limousine.
  • We’ve been struggling to find things to do without the use of money, since we’re broke.
  • No one wants to buy the old van for more than $600.
  • We were really hoping to get at least $1000 for the clunker.
  • The money from the sale of the old van will be immediately sunk into our propane tank.
  • Yay.  <—- sarcasm
  • I haven’t been tweeting or posting lately because, well, I just don’t have anything important to say.
  • I have successfully gotten 3 out of 5 of my dad’s siblings to create facebook accounts.
  • I find that very entertaining.
  • Perhaps I should hold bi-monthly facebook lessons for my mom and my aunts… lol!
  • We really wanted to get out on the town today, but Tom’s body would not cooperate.  He felt miserable up in his chair, so had to get back into bed.
  • He’s feeling much better now.
  • We made a routine doctors appointment for him next Tuesday.
  • Which means we’ll have an excuse to get out next week.
  • I’m frustrated that the coke rewards site has changed their points limit to 120 a week instead of 100 a day.  Now I’m sitting on a whole bunch of points that I can’t enter because I’ve already reached my 120 limit this week.
  • We did get a food processor and a dust buster-type thingee from the coke rewards sight.  Not that we’ve used either yet… but, by golly, we have them.
  • We were going to go geocaching today, but Tom’s GPS didn’t want to download any waypoints.  I don’t think his GPS and Vista are friends.  (of course, that whole Tom not feeling well thing didn’t help either)
  • We bought one cherry tree that is almost 5 feet tall the other day.
  • We did not know you needed two cherry trees to make cherries.
  • We do not have the money to buy a second cherry tree.
  • We need milk.
  • We’re low on Diet Coke.
  • The sun is setting.
  • There is a squirrel in my driveway.
  • I think one of the neighborhood dogs has mange.
  • I don’t know what mange is.
  • I only think the dog has mange because I heard one of the neighbors yell to another neighbor, “You know that dog probably has mange, right?”
  • I could google it, but I don’t wanna.
  • I want some cereal and milk.
  • Or some corned beef and cabbage.
  • Oh yeah, Happy St. Patrick’s Day.
  • Uhm…
  • Uhm…
  • Uhm…
  • Okay, thats it for now.
  • See ya.

I’m sittin’ in the country right now, hanging out at one of Tom’s friends houses. We haven’t been down here in years and years. It just wasn’t worth the trip in the old van… gas guzzler, bumpy, drafty old thing it was.

The drive today was sweet. Cruise control, the boys hanging out in the back watching the news on the way down. Super nice stuff! Worth waking up earlier for, at that. (normally our day starts around noon. Today, we were out the door by 11:30 to get down here to visit!) anyway, I’m out of here so I can socialize!

Believe it or not, there is an issue with the new van. Go figure? Right?

The van we bought came to us with an after market alarm system. No big deal, you’d think. In fact,

*can I briefly interupt this regularly scheduled blog post to mention that the McDonalds commerical for their fillet of fish sandwich with the singing fish plaque? It absolutely drives me batty… Looney … Insane with rage and anger. Tom finds it funny – both the commerical and the fact that it drives me crazy. He likes to sing along with it!! Gah!

Anyway – back to the alarm; most people would be happy with an alarm system included in the purchase. Well, see, here’s the deal:

The alarm sets as soon as a door shuts. So, if I get out of the drivers seat and then walk around to open the other door, the alarm goes off. Loudly. Very very loudly.

Actually, honestly, I find this super humorous, and only mildly annoying.

Today when I took the van in to get it inspected, as I handed over the keys to the guys behind the counter, I explain the minor alarm issue. Yanno, I thought I would be nice.

*can I interupt again to say how much I enjoy watching Two and a a Half Men? Gosh, I totally love it. Totally makes me giggle!
Again, uhm, where was I? Oh, right:

The point here is that, even after totally explaining my alarm situation to the guys, I still heard my alarm go off three times in the garage. I’m sure the other mechanics were just overly thrilled with the ear splitting beeping.
And I literally laughed out loud in the waiting room each time I heard it sound off. The other customer in the waiting room thought I was a little crazy… Laughing like a maniac at the poor soul who was getting all the dirty looks in the garage!

Anyway – uhm. I need to figure out how to figure out what alarm company installed this crazy thing so I can adjust the settings. It has Clifford written on the fob, but I’m fairly certain that it’s probably old enough that the company has discontinued this verison. How do I figure out how to change this?!

I told Tom and Paul yesterday that I was going to Tom’s mom’s house today to get my hair colored at 2 pm.

And, at about noon today, I reminded them again.

Coloring.

Today.

2 pm.

So, why is when I got back from Tom’s mom’s house that it took Tom approximately 30 minutes to mention my hair had changed colors after I got home today?

And, Paul?  Oh, he just noticed… uhm, nearly five hours after I got home.

Boys.

Geez.

Edited to add the photo… Sorry, Blue.

HairDid

ps – my hair is naturally dark dark brown, if that helps ya figure out the change here.
