so, if a plan is considered fool proof, but then someone makes it go awry… What do you call the person who screwed up the fool proof plan? Just curious.

Once, my fool proof plan landed me a parking ticket. Btw, this ticket would be my one and only ticket ever. Knock on wood of course.

I once lived in a studio apartment downtown in the town I was born and raised. During this time frame, I was also managing the local DQ. (yes, it is the same store I now only decorate cakes for… Thank goodness.)

Anyhow. Most of my true friends knows that I am definitely more of a night owl than an early riser.

Instead of parking in my studio apartment’s parking lot, I decided to utilize the street’s parking as my motivation to get out of bed and moving. The street only allows two hour parking from the hours of nine AM to … I don’t know, four PM.

So, by parking there overnight, I HAD to move my car no later than 11 AM, otherwise I’d get a ticket.

Well, as you already know, obviously I didn’t make it down to move my car before 11.

Fool proof? Obviously not.

And, to make matters more interesting, I was supposed to be at work at 9 AM, to unlock the store, let the employees in and get ready to open… by 11AM.

Yeah. Go figure, huh? A more than perfect way to start the day, obviously.

  1. So…did the missing the opening of the store for the employees that morning have anything to do with you not being a manager anymore?

  2. Interestingly enough, no. In fact, I don’t even know if the owners of the store ever knew that I over slept that day.

  3. well, who needs a dilly bar before noon anyways?
