Why is your blog called Seriously Sheila?
I used to have a blog through Blogger titled ‘Seriously’, because I use that word quite frequently. When I created my latest email address, I combined my blog title and my name. When I purchased my dot com, it stuck.

How long have you and Tom been ‘You and and Tom’?
Who keeps track of these things? Uhm, I think we moved in together in early 2001?
How did Tom get hurt?

What is Tom’s actual injury, and what is his prognoses?
Tom has a c-5 incomplete injury. Unless there are great medical advancements in the near future, significant improvement is unlikely.
Okay, okay, I see that link up there… could you just explain it in simple terms?
Sure. Tom is paralyzed from the middle of his chest downward. He has good use of his left arm and fair use of his right arm. He has no use of his fingers. He uses a power wheelchair to get around when he’s not stuck in bed with pressure sores.
Why did you stay?

What’s the donation button for?
Originally, the donation button was to hopefully raise enough money to make our bathroom (and mainly shower) accessible for Tom. Since this project has been completed, any donations will go towards making Tom’s life more enjoyable.
Perhaps towards a better wheelchair accessible van… maybe brick paths around our house so he can get out in the yard after it has rained… As soon as the next project is decided, the link will be updated in the sidebar.

If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?
Well, I used to think I wanted to be a published author. I really don’t think that I could pull that off anymore. Instead, I would want to do something artistic. Maybe become a professional portrait photographer? Getting paid to hand make pottery on the wheel wouldn’t suck either, though.
