(did you like that title?)

Okay, okay, I renewed my flickr account.

I’m working on getting my house refinanced, which should save us money monthly.  Okay, obviously, if it doesn’t save me money monthly, the refinancing my house was pointless at this point in my life.  My credit card and my car will be paid off after I’m done with this refinancing.  Thats going to completely kick butt.

Originally when I applied for the loan to purchase this house, my credit wasn’t great.  So, I was given a higher interest rate.  Now, since its been nearly 2 years in the house and they realize that I’m not a credit risk anymore, they’re offering to lower my interest rate.  Of course, I jumped on board.  Who doesn’t like a lower interest rate.

(Its a fixed rate, calm down everyone.)

My concern with this refinance is how quickly that money will find other places it needs to be spent.  Do you know what I mean?

My short term goals, after all the paperwork is done, will be to pay off a couple outstanding hospital bills that I have, get my car in better condition and finally pay my personal property tax (which I will probably still wait to do until after my taxes are done).

My long term goals will be to not use my credit card unless absolutely necessary.  Also, I’d like to set aside some money monthly, in like one of those… oh, what are they called … savings account!  (Sorry, its been so long since I’ve used one of those, I forgot what it was called.)   I’d like to be able to save up some cash for some home improvements or maybe a vacation one day!

Are ya pickin’ up what I’m layin’ down? (I looooove saying that!)
I gotta take off.  Stuff to do, people to see… or something.

Oooh, Tom finally updated his blog.  Go tell him hello, okie?

We got Tom’s shower chair last night. It should work out just great. We’re excited to get to use it!!

Thanks to everyone who helped us out. It really has meant a lot to the both of us.

And, if you want to see pictures of the entire remodel, you can click here.

I hate to vacuum. Despise. Loathe. And, technically, I should totally be vacuuming right now. Yet, I figure, we’ve got to move some stuff around tomorrow before the benefit gets going anyhow. So, why not wait until tomorrow when that stuff is out of the way… right?

C’mon. Tell me its okay to blow off vacuuming until the last minute.

Besides, I figure, with all the people coming in and out of my house tomorrow, its really pointless to vacuum anyhow.

Well, I’d get around the litter box taken care of, because my darned cats don’t know how to keep litter IN the box to save their lives.

But, the rest of the living room? Not necessary, imho.

Fine. I’ll go vacuum the damned living room. Stop looking at me that way.

Stop it.

Quit.

Seriously!!

So, I charged a little less than two hundred dollars today on my credit card for the service man who came and looked at my furnace.

It turns out that the morons who owned this house before me have come back to bite me in the butt again.  See, when they wired the thermostat, they used different one different colored wire.  Instead of the wire being green, it was black.

So, after the bathroom remodel, when we went to hook back up the thermostat, we matched the black wire to the black connector.

No, no, nooooo.  By doing this, the blower motor stays on 24 hours a day, unless you manually flip the switch.  Obviously, we didn’t realize this.  Otherwise, I could of fixed the problem.  Tom’s dad even came out and looked at it all!

Right.  So, literally, the dude comes out, looks at the furnace, looks at the thermostat and said the wiring was messed up.  Then proceeded to unconnect the black wire, put it on the green connector and *presto* problem solved.

$183.00 for this folks.

$79.00 for the analysis of the problem.

$99.00 to connect the wire to the correct terminal.

Right.

I will totally come over to someone’s house and connect a wire for $99.  Any takers?

I realize that it’s Wednesday.  I realize that I’ve not blogged lately.  I realize that you probably haven’t been checking my site 23908 times a day waiting for some form of post.

But, just in case you have been totally stalking me (because I can’t even be bothered to look at my stats), this is my lame update.

I need to clean my house.  STILL.

If there is anyone in western Missouri / eastern Kansas that would like to come do this, out of the kindness of their hearts, please let me know.

I’m just soooooo not motivated to dust ceiling fans and nik naks.  Let alone vacuuming under furniture and scrubbing the floors.

Especially by myself.

Ugh.

99.99% done.

Photos here.

I <3 my bathroom. I think I might move into it.

PS - Blue gave me an award (in the lower sidebar).  She thinks I’m perfect.  Well, okay… she thinks this post is perfect.   Isn’t that so sweet of her!  Thanks, Blue!

Well, here’s the deal: I don’t have a lot to say right now.

I’ve been slowly working on reorganizing my bathroom, and contemplating the cleaning of the rest of my house.

I installed a template that I edited for Sugar Queen’s Dream.

I’ve been messing around with my tester blog.

I need to finish the flyer for the benefit on November 3.

I was supposed to go over to my mother’s tonight, but I got involved with the piles of stuff in the guest bedroom… which didn’t get put away, but moved from one spot to another.

It rained today. I have no energy.

If I could teleport to my mom’s, I would. I’d like to visit. I just don’t want to drive anywhere… have you had days like that?

I’m a sucky daughter.
