Is it a bad sign when your water company doesn’t know why your neighborhood doesn’t have water?
I’d think so.
While putting up a video in the post below this one, my blog started doing some really wonky things. I completely freaked out, since my template looked like an abstract version of this one, and attempted to remove the video.
In the process of attempting to edit out the embedded video, my blog started becoming possessed, and wouldn’t let me do anything to it. I was really concerned that somehow, during the embedding of this pointless video, I’d broken my blawg.
I started getting really angry.
There is a lot of crap on this blog. 99.9 percent of it is literally just crap. If I lose it, I might tear up a little. But, I’d get over it. Eventually.
But the only copy of the Story I have is on this blog. (Well, I do have it stuck in my old computer that is still broken…) I’m going to move a copy of the Story over to my external hard drive, RIGHT NOW.
Pee Ess - how does one back up a blawg? Will someone hold my hand, cuz I’m scareded of it.
When you have to call a medical supply company for the millionth time in a month to figure out what the hold up is in replacing a broken hospital bed because they’ve never called you and told you that they’ve been receiving the wrong paperwork from your would-do-anything-to-help doctor, its time to play the ‘You’re affecting his quality of life’ card.
Its also time to get the boss’s name and discuss in an elevated tone about needing to hire some more employees because they’re allowing people to suffer because they don’t want to pay another person’s paycheck. Having one employee by themselves in the store to manage walk-in customers and telephone calls is ridiculous - especially when dealing with medical issues and insurance companies!
Seriously.
(If this post makes no sense, just nod and agree: Run-around = not happy)
I’m so confused as to why my cordless mouse (powered by 2 AA batteries) always seems to run out of juice with no warning. The mouse only seems to die when I’m using it, also. Which, for some reason, usually happens two minutes after I’ve let my roommate use the computer.
There are two things that aggravate me about this situation.
1 - There is a warning message that pops up on the screen when the batteries are low. I hardly ever receive this message. Which means that the message pops up when my roommate is using my computer. You have to click OK to get rid of the message. Which means that he clicks OK and never relays the message to me… or even considers changing the batteries by himself.
2 - After the warning message pops up, you need to immediately change the batteries. There is very little time left before the batteries are dead. Very very little. After the batteries die, you can get a little more use out of the mouse if you keep pressing the reset button on the bottom of the mouse. I keep extra AA batteries for my mouse literally 6 - 8 inches away from the mouse… but instead of changing the batteries, the roommate will continuously flip over the mouse and press the reset button with a pin.
I don’t mention it to him because its really a petty stupid thing that isn’t life altering. I will continue to live even if the roommate never realizes the ease of changing the mouse batteries on his own. But, it still aggravates me, none the less.
Is there something minor like this that occurs at your house that drives you batty?
This has been the longest January in the history of Januaries. I’m very tired of it being so consistently cold here in the mid-west. Normally we have our cold snap, and then we have a mild-ish winter. This year it seems that we can’t get above freezing, keeping the snow on the ground for weeks and weeks, even though its only snowed a couple of times. This weather is doing absolutely nothing for my sanity.
I have yet to regain my voice. This sickness has been going on so long now also. What is up with this winter? I’ve been trying to convince myself that this is just my new voice, and I need to get over any idea of my normal voice returning. On a positive note, though, I’ve started using both nostrils again and only minor snot leakage is occurring.
I have a friend who was born on leap day. He’ll officially be eight this year, although he’s the same age as me. I think I’m going to buy him a cool 8 year old birthday card… maybe with Superman or Spiderman on it… whatcha think?
I have about $500 earmarked for home improvements since refinancing my house. I’m not quite sure what is the highest priority on the list though. I think I’m going to get a new front door and new storm doors, but I haven’t made up my mind yet. If you had $500 to spend on home improvements, what would you fix at your house?
There are 15 calories per cough drop that I’m using. Thats just an FYI for ya.
I’m going to get the top fixed on my convertible soon, I hope. Not that I need it to be able to go up and down just yet, but it’ll be nice for it to work again. Then we can load Tom up in the car and go for some nice scenic drives come springtime.
My BFF Elizabeth is getting married in the middle of April. Its getting down to crunch time. I think that, realistically, there isn’t a lot to worry about. Now I just need to continue to remind her of that fact.
I’m tired of trying to think of titles that go along with my posts…
- My furnace stopped working today. So, after looking it over and knowing I had no idea what I was looking at, I had to call a service man… on a weekend. If there was any way that I thought I could of held out until tomorrow, I would of done it. But, its been hovering around 5 degrees at night - and there is no way that Tom’s body can cope with that. Anyhow, it cost me $210 for him to clean a wire which was hindering my furnaces ability to register to turn on… Great.
- I worked more this last week at my part time job than I have all winter, it feels. Ironically, it’ll all go towards the credit card bill that I charged the furnace repairs on. Yay.
- I literally haven’t done much this week at all, minus going to work. I barely got over to my mom’s on Sunday night, and didn’t stay very long at all. I was supposed to go see my Grandma this week, but didn’t manage to get out of the house to do it. I’m going to see about stopping by her work on Tuesday to see if we can match schedules later in the week.
- My cousin’s fiance is having twins in … April? One boy and one girl. My family is having a shower for her on Sunday. If anyone has any baby stuff they want to give to someone who could use them, ship ‘em to me and I’ll pass them on.
- Tom has posted twice on his blog within a week, I think.
- My latest addiction is checking Craigslist nearly daily. I’m not looking for anything, and haven’t gotten anything. But, I don’t want to miss out… you know what I mean? I’m hopeless.
- I haven’t been blogging much, obviously. But, unless you want to hear about my watching What Not To Wear, Rock of Love 2 or Scott Baio is 46 and Pregnant, you probably aren’t wanting me to blog right now. (I don’t know why I’m addicted to these shows!!)
