Last night, Tom and I spent the evening in a luxurious hotel room surrounded by all sorts of friends to watch the finale.

Tom’s bed was super comfy, and didn’t even really have the appearance of his hospital bed at home, although it had the same functions – yanno the ones, the ability to raise and lower the head of the bed at the press of a button, blah blah blah.

The view from the room waaaay high up in the air was amazing at night. Vast blackness in the distance met by twinkling lights from below and the stars above. At one point, I opened one of the floor to ceiling windows with the little spin handles attached to it, which propped the window open to a 45 degree angle outwards, letting the amazingly cool night air into the room.

It wasn’t really necessary to help cool off the room though. I mean, ya spend the big bucks, and the room better cool itself down even if its packed full of people!

The huge flat screen TV was across the room from Tom, to make sure he had a great view of the show. After all, none of us knew how the finale was going to turn out. We were all curious and glued to the screen when the program began.

When Bret Michaels arrived to our room, no one was shocked or amazed. Obviously, why would they be? I mean, it just made perfect sense for him to be there.

I greeted Bret with a hug and made sure that he had a drink immediately, getting him settled in on a bar stool (by the bar, of course) with a clear view of the flat screen as well. He was more than happy to be with us last night. Smiling and making small talk with everyone around. I could tell he was excited about the finale also.

As the program continued on, and the suspense started to build, people started asking some rather intriguing questions:

- “How did I not know you were on this show?”
- “Well, I wasn’t allowed to say anything.”

- “What did he think of it all?”
- “He wasn’t concerned.”

Strange things, out of context, but I had answers to anything thrown my way. Except about the finale. I was clueless about the outcome myself.

Tom smiled at me across the room, and I smiled back. I sure do love that man, I thought while continuing answering questions and attempting to keep an eye on the tv.

Bret kind of tilted his head towards the tv, to signal to me that it was time to pay attention.

I shushed the questions from our friends and turned to watch.

There I was, on the season finale of Rock of Love.

Somehow I was in the top two – with no recollection of any of it.

I was on the screen. Bret was on the screen. Honestly, a strange sensation, if you’ve never had it happen before… especially without remembering it happening to begin with.

The TV Bret hugged me tight and told me I was a wonderful girl. But, obviously, I was very much in love with Tom. And, Bret told me how much he knew that Tom loved me too, since they had developed a friendship through the taping of the show – somehow…?

Bret told me that he wanted to make sure Tom and I never struggled financially again. He said we both deserved it, and each other. That we had the type of love that he could only dream of finding on a TV show like this…

And, as the runner up on his show, Rock Of Love, he was giving Tom and I some huuuuuuuuuge check.

I turned away from the TV set with tears of happiness in my eyes, looking back and forth between Tom and Bret. Tom smiled the same smile Bret had, as if he knew all along this would be the outcome of the finale.

And, knowing those two, they probably had it planned out that way from the beginning.

  • I’ve really got nothing to say.
  • I know that’s not proper English.
  • I don’t really give a hoot.
  • I updated one plug in and it freaked out another plug in.
  • If you don’t have wordpress, you won’t understand that last sentence.
  • Its okay.
  • We’ve not yet gotten the van.
  • At this rate, I will have made the first payment on the van before we’ve even seen it in person.
  • I’m not thrilled with that idea.
  • I’ve been pretty bored with the internet lately.
  • That fact has not kept me from staring at my computer screen, though.
  • I’ve been spending a lot of time with Elizabeth lately, helping her from going crazy while she’s attempting to write her 25 page thesis for her criminal justice degree.
  • The above homework is making my brain hurt as well, especially since I’m not overly interested in the criminal justice field.
  • I’ve been pyschostalking facebook lately, with no real purpose.  (Again, read: bored with internet)
  • Did I mention I’ve got nothing really worth posting about?
  • Its a true story.
  • I’ve already done my taxes and have received my refund.
  • Its paying off my Best Buy card.
  • Whoopie.
  • How do I not know a plumber?  We have so many friends that know so many different things, but none of them is a plumber.  I find this odd.
  • I want to plant some type of big bushy stuff along my fence in my back yard to help create privacy, but don’t know what I should put there.
  • I really need some flippin’ trees, too.  Buying trees that are not teeeeeeny tiny can be expensive, though.
  • Uhm… yup.
  • That’s it.
  • Oh, and… we’re alive and well here.  Trying to wait patiently until spring so we can get rid of this cabin fever crap.
  • Okay, that’s it.

  • My sister closed on her first house on the 13th.
  • We’ve been in the process of moving her out of my mother’s house ever since.
  • I think we’re done moving all the big stuff.
  • Thank goodness.
  • A girl from work gave my mom a kitten on the 14th.
  • My mom hasn’t had a kitten since I was a wee little tike.
  • The female calico still doesn’t have a name.
  • Any ideas?
  • My sister and I can have fun doing nearly anything together.
  • I enjoy spending time with my sister, even if its moving mattresses and love seats.
  • Thank goodness she doesn’t plan on moving again for a long long time.
  • I’ve not been home a lot this week and I feel bad about that.
  • Paul had knee surgery last Wednesday, which makes me feel worse for being gone.
  • Yet, it was an outpatient surgery, and he was mobile (albeit slowly) from the get go.
  • What the heck kind of phrase is ‘get go’?
  • The holidays are literally right around the corner.
  • I’ve yet to start Christmas shopping.
  • I just don’t even know where to begin with the whole process.
  • Did I mention the kitten is super-dee-dooper cute?
  • The kitten is super-dee-dooper cute.
  • I’ve yet to find a furnace filter for my new Carrier furnace that fits correctly.
  • I’ve even spend the big bucks at the actual Carrier dealer, and it ended up too ‘short’.
  • Have you seen those humongous furnace filters that are like 4 1/2 inches thick?  That’s my filter.
  • They’re either too short (3 inches) or too long (5 inches).  What’s up with that?
  • I took some photos of Elizabeth and her sister Caitlin on Sunday.
  • I lurve taking pictures.
  • I am tired.
  • The End

Blue gave me the keys to her blog while she’s away ‘camping’.

I’ve decided to expose the truth about her while she’s gone.

Go read all about it before the story breaks on CNN.

You all remember me getting my hair cut a while ago, right?

Well, when I don’t mess with the straight iron (which is not very often), my hair lays differently. Not bad, really. Just different.

And, when I don’t bother with straightening it, it doesn’t like staying behind my ears – which can be a large annoyance for me. I’m constantly putting my hair behind my ears, really. And, being a cake decorator, I really need my hair to stay out of my face… you know, for more than one reason, really.

The other day I finally got tired of messing with my hair. I decided to branch out, and take a huge fashion step (for me):

Condoleezza Rice: Sir, I have the report here about the new leader of China.

George: Great. Lay it on me.

Condi: Hu is the new leader of China.

George: That’s what I want to know.

Condi: That’s what I’m telling you.

Condi: I’m telling you Hu is leading China.

Condi: That’s the man’s name.

George: That’s who’s name?

Condi: Yes.

George: Will you or will you not tell me the name of the new leader of China?

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Yassir? Yassir Arafat is in China? I thought he was in the Middle East.

Condi: That’s correct.

George: Then who is in China?

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Yassir is in China?

Condi: No, sir.

George: Then who is?

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Yassir?

Condi: No, sir.

George: Look, Condi. I need to know the name of the new leader of China. Get me the Secretary General of the U.N. on the phone.

Condi: Kofi?

George: No, thanks.

Condi: You want Kofi?

George: No.

Condi: You don’t want Kofi.

George: No. But now that you mention it, I could use a glass of milk. And then get me the U.N.

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Not Yassir! The guy at the U.N.

Condi: Kofi?

George: Milk! Will you please make the call?

Condi: And call who?

George: Who is the guy at the U.N?

Condi: Hu is the guy in China.

George: Will you stay out of China?!

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: And stay out of the Middle East! Just get me the guy at the U.N.

Condi: Kofi.

George: All right! With cream and two sugars. Now get on the phone.
