- I find it incredibly odd that someone googled ‘mature boobs on flickr’ and made their way to my blog. Seriously? Does this sound anything like me or my blog content? Strange.
- I bought the movie Enchanted and still haven’t watched it yet. Watching a movie isn’t something I like to rush. I like to snuggle in and laze around while watching and after I’m done with a movie. I’ve not really had time to do that yet.
- I bought a new blow dryer, a flat iron, and some goop for my hair. These three things somehow made my hair look amazing when the chick at the salon used them. I’m not a girlie girl and don’t know how to work these devices properly. I wonder how it’ll look when I’m done. (PS - I don’t even know if the ‘goop’ I got is the ‘goop’ she used at the salon.)
- This may be comical.
- (How is it that I can decorate millions of cakes, but I have no comprehension of how to use a circular brush, let alone lacking the dexterity to operate one?!)
- Project Maintaining Eyebrows is a little underwhelming yet potentially hazardous, in my opinion. There hasn’t been a lot to maintain, therefore I can see myself getting lax in maintaining them and having to religiously pay someone else to wax them.
- The St. John’s Wort has definitely improved my sleeping since I’ve started taking it. The first two nights I took it, my eyes were glued shut the next days. Very interesting, if you ask me. I don’t know if its the St. John’s Wort that has eased my anxiety, or the fact that I had just had a major melt down before I started taking it, but I’m feeling a little better.
- I purchased a new computer tower on Tuesday. All that Vista stuff is a little irksome at the very beginning, but overall I’m enjoying my new tower. Don’t ask me for specifics on it, I don’t know. Oh, okay… its this one. Considering I don’t do anything important on my computer and that I have a decent sized external hard drive, this one seemed just fine to me. Its all Greek to me, anyhow.
- Elizabeth’s bridal shower is Saturday. We’re having a wine tasting and she’s going to open presents. We’re going to go out for a couple drinks afterwards. Okay, in saying ‘We’, I mean ’she’. I’m Elizabeth’s DD. I sure hope she has a great time and gets lots of good presents! I’ll be taking photos, but won’t promise any of them will get put on the ‘net. We’ll have to see.
- Tom updated his blog. Which, obviously, is the reason that I’m updating mine. I can’t let him have a newer post than me. It’ll give me a complex. (I’m totally kidding. Well, about the ‘complex’ part, anyhow.) Go tell him hello. Maybe it’ll convince him to blog more…

Tom’s body decided that it didn’t like its catheter yesterday and today. So much so that we figured that there was a manufacturing defect in the line itself, and we asked our favorite-est home health care nurse come out today to change to a new one.
Of course, with Tom’s (’if I didn’t have bad luck I’d have no luck at all’) luck, the new catheter did not want to be inserted for some odd reason, which causes all sorts of potential chaos for Tom. Since Tom’s SCI he doesn’t get normal sensations when it comes to anything below his level of injury. And, if Tom’s catheter doesn’t work, then Tom’s blood pressure can double or triple when his bladder is full. Extremely high blood pressure = stroke / heart attack.
Anyhow - the point of the story is that we had to call an ambulance (because waiting 4 hours in the ER waiting room is not an option for us in this situation) and go to the ER. Thankfully the ER doctor was able to somewhat forcefully reinsert Tom’s catheter before Tom’s bladder was full enough to cause any blood pressure issues.
Tom did have a couple more intense bladder spasms after we got home today, which are not fun at all. But, after flushing the catheter, I think we may have it under control.
Here’s hoping, anyhow.
No one likes to go to the ER.
But, no one really likes to go to the ER twice in two days. Right?
This was only published so I could explain how to add a photo to Wordpress for Blue via email.
I had to walk through the steps myself so I could write it down. Do you have to do that also? Or am I the only one that is crazy?
We got Tom’s shower chair last night. It should work out just great. We’re excited to get to use it!!
Thanks to everyone who helped us out. It really has meant a lot to the both of us.
And, if you want to see pictures of the entire remodel, you can click here.

I am slightly aggravated with the whole Coke Rewards Points thing. They do have some really great offers through their site that I strive to accumulate enough points to redeem… but as soon as I get enough points, the item I want is out of stock. I am an impatient person by nature. I’m trying to convince myself to hold on and wait for something else cool. If there were a lot of the lesser valued items that I wanted, waiting would be a lot harder.
I’m trying the tantowel samples that RisibleGirl sent me. I tried one the other night on my arms and collar bone area, and didn’t notice a change in color. I wonder if I’m so white that it’ll take 398329 towelettes to make a change, hence the reason for the reapply today. Lets all cross our fingers that there will be some positive change this time… this would definitely be the more cost effective way for me to be tan at Elizabeth’s wedding.
I have had nearly nothing but football on my television since the day before Thanksgiving, and I’m close to going crazy. I’ve been attempting to keep my sanity by staying on the computer and ignoring the television as much as possible since Tom has no choice but to stay indoors since its so cold outside. I’ve only mentioned my failing sanity once or twice to Tom since the ‘marathon’ has started.
I wanted to order some contacts online but realized that it cost nearly the same for my toric lens online as it would to order them from the eye doctor. Therefore, if I were to get new contacts, I really should just go to the eye doctor since its been… oh, since Tom’s accident, since my eyes have been checked. I really don’t have the money for all that. So, whatever.
Everything went off without a hitch, thank goodness. Our wonderful friends started filling in and out all night long, keeping me very busy playing hostess. We had a stage set up in the back yard for the bands to play, and had our first (and only) noise complaint by 3:30 PM. When the Sheriff came by, I could tell that he was not happy to be there, but had to do his job.
I would say that we had a constant 40 - 50 people through the party, with at least another 50 - 75 filtering throughout the day. We made a decent little bit of cash, and now have to figure out the most responsible way to use it. Obviously, we’re trying to figure out the best shower chair option for Tom first. Then, if their is any left over, it’ll probably go towards filling our propane tank.
There are some pictures up on facebook and myspace, if you’re interested in checking them out.
