This weekend was very productive.  I was away from the house pretty much all day on Saturday helping Elizabeth get the last little things bought for the wedding.  Well, we hope, anyhow.  I’m sure that if Elizabeth never sees another wedding section of craft store, she will be satisfied.  I can’t say that I blame her.

My calendar is slowly being covered with dates for fine tuning of wedding details, especially since we’re less than 6 weeks out.  Boys don’t understand all the time that goes into the planning of this stuff.  Tom is wondering if he’ll see me home on a Saturday any time soon.

Doubtful, dear, doubtful.

Was there anything at your wedding that you wished you would of done differently, or didn’t even think to plan for until it happened?

  • I’ve not received any socks from the Great Sock Exchange 2007.
  • I did receive a pair of socks from Miss Ann.
  • It was not entirely Great Sock Exchange related.
  • Blue is co-hosting on BlogTalkRadio tonight.
  • I cannot figure out how to listen to this show to save my life.
  • I will attempt to listen to the archives later.
  • I’m really tired of football season already.
  • Especially when my team sucks.
  • I’m kind of bored with Nascar too.
  • I think I’m going to take a nap.
  • My earphones hurt my ears.
  • All of my Christmas crap is piled up in the guest room.
  • I was really excited about Christmas about 2 weeks ago.
  • Now I’m freaking out about money again.
  • I desperately need a tanning package so as to not be ghostly white for Elizabeth’s wedding in April.
  • The bridesmaids dress is strapless.
  • I always wear sleeves.
  • Hence the reason I need a tan.
  • Definitely looking like a farmer here.
  • Has anyone used one of those spray on tans?  Are they worth it?  How much do they cost?
  • Maybe this would be the better route for me?
  • I’ve got no idea.
  • I still have no idea how I’m going to pay to fill the propane tank.
  • I’m tired of having the same issues.
  • I’m going to take a nap now.
  • Or at least stare mindlessly at the television.
  • Blah.

Believe it or not, our flipping internet connection is being completely finicky. And, in the process of trying to identify why our connection is being a bigger pain in the butt than normal, I think I accidentally locked our router so Tom cannot wirelessly connect. Which means, Tom is really happy with me (note the sarcasm there, please). And, I know nothing about routers, connectivity and all that crap… well, obviously I know enough to ‘lock’ it. (We’re having a friend come look at it on Tuesday. Oh, and don’t suggest an ethernet cord, cuz… well, we don’t have one handy.)

So, Tom asked me to tell you that he intended to blog tonight, but cannot because his girlfriend is stupid. Uhm, that’s not a direct quote.

UPDATE: I am stupid. Our printer was hooked up with an ethernet cord, which obviously I can disconnect and hook up to Tom’s computer. Of course, I now have a cord across my bedroom at about waist level that I’m sure I’m going to forget about and try to walk through, dragging either Tom’s laptop or the router with me… But, I told Tom that I would only hook up his laptop if he promised to blog tonight. So, there better be an entry before we go to bed tonight, otherwise I’m pulling the cord!

Anyways - I still can’t hear out of my ear. I’ve pulled on my earlobe more today than Carol Burnett has in her whole television career! I wish I could say that it has helped.

A whole bunch of Tom’s family came to visit today before heading out of town again. They had come up for Tom’s older sister’s wedding, but made a point to stop by and see us since we weren’t able to attend the celebration. It was a beautiful day for the visit, and we greatly enjoyed the company.

Whelp, I guess I should work on getting my car inspected and licensed. I don’t think if any cops pull me over for expired tags would buy my sob story about my ear infection…

It is a good sob story, though, I promise. Especially when I get the bill!

Ah, to be able to hold my head up without long lasting side affects.

No, I’m not 100 percent, but I am definitely on the upswing.

Maybe I’ll actually make it to Tom’s sister’s wedding tomorrow! That would be nice…

Basically, I think all my sinuses on the left side of my head went on strike at the same time. I wish I knew of a way to avoid that from ever happening again.

Anyway - I really don’t have much to say currently, since all I’ve done is sleep. Well, and mindlessly stare at the TV, which didn’t do much good because my face was so swollen I couldn’t wear my glasses. No glasses = no see TV.

You’ll be seeing more of me now, I think. Thank goodness.

The wedding went alright. It was a small affair, which is fine.

It seemed like every 3rd person had a camera, though, so it was a little hard to get photos without getting in other’s shots. I get a little confused when this happens. I don’t know who the ‘primary’ photographer is - therefore trying to stay completely out of their way…

Anyhow - there are some pictures on my flickr account. We took quite a few, and I’ve not been able to look through them all and check them out. So, some more photos might appear later.

If I really am going to consider doing this for cash, I’m going to need to look into lighting alternatives, because it would of helped tremendously today. Overall, I’m not horribly impressed with the photos. I’ve done better. Yet, I’ve done worse, also.

My sister went with me today, which I enjoyed. She went with the intention of helping me take photos, which she did. But, it turned out to not be as necessary as I assumed it would be. But, we did have quite a interesting moments.

My favorite would be when we arrived at the Buddhist Temple before anyone else and had to ask a non-English speaking Monk whether we were in the right place.

“Hi, is there a wedding here at noon?” I ask politely, unassuming of how difficult of a question this really is.

He nods wildly, smiles and cheerfully, “Cooking Class at 5!”

“Uhm,” I just don’t know how to respond to that. “Nooooo… Wedding… Noon?”

Right, my sister and I decided to wait outside for someone from the wedding party to arrive…

Anyway - On a completely and totally different subject:

In case y’all don’t read Trish’s blog, I just wanted to quickly say that TRISH IS PREGNANT AND IS GOING TO HAVE A BABY GIRL! AND SHE’S GOING TO NAME HER SHEILA! (Okay, I made that last part up.)

Why do people think that calling me at 4 AM is alright?!

No, I will not cosign on your bond.

I cannot believe that I am the ONLY person that you know that has had a job for over a year. Aren’t you realizing what you’re saying?!

I don’t care that you’re going to loose your job.

Its your problem.

On a different note, I’m doing the photography at a wedding tomorrow. (No charge - its to add to my portfolio so maybe one day I can charge!)

I’m kind of excited about it because its a Buddhist ceremony, and I’ve not ever been to one of those.

But, I’m a little nervous at the same time because I’ve not gotten much of a chance to talk specifics to the Bride (a friend of mine).

My sister is coming along to be the second shooter.

And, there’s a possibility I may be doing another wedding in June. (Angie? Interested?) This one would be a paying job, but I have no idea what… Cuz I don’t know what to charge.

Will post some pictures on Flickr no later than Sunday evening, I think. I’ll let y’all know.

Elizabeth had gone out to dinner with her folks and her Uncle and Aunt.

Her Uncle, being polite, asked her what the head count was for her wedding.

She sighed, knowing the conversation that was going to occur from the simple question, “800.”

Her Uncle looked at her with wide eyes. Her Mother cringed with the number as well.

“We can still have it at Yellow Stone Park,” her Dad offered.

Elizabeth shook her head, “No, Dad, I want to have it here.”

“What’s wrong with Yellow Stone Park?” her Uncle asked. “And why so many people?”

“I’ve been dreaming of this day since I was a little kid, and it was never at Yellow Stone Park. Dad wants it at Yellow Stone, and I have no idea why! There wouldn’t be as many people, except his family is Italian and my family feels the need to invite every South African on this continent…”

The crowd start to all talk at once, adding their own advice to Elizabeth’s wedding.

Elizabeth’s Aunt interrupts, “Leave her be, leave her be. This is her wedding and she should be allowed to have it however she wants!”

Then, I woke up. Yeah, it was a dream. It was weird. I don’t get it, because none of it affects me, really.

No offense, Elizabeth, but your wedding should not stress me out. Another crazy dream like this, and I may have to consider therapy.
